David Hagberg in his latest novel, Dance with the Dragon, delivers another very realistic and prophetic thriller. A CIA agent is unexplainably killed in the foothills of northern Mexico’s Sierra Madre and the Agency is scrambling to solve the mystery and to discover why all signs are leading to a coming disaster 9/11 or bigger. Kirk McGarvey is lured easily although reluctantly from retirement as a visiting professor at the University of Florida because of the magnitude and intricacy of the threat. The story includes a cast of international figures from a mysterious Iranian dancer who is McGarvey’s only lead, a hedonistic and cruel Chinese general with links to the drug trade and his country’s spy organization, a U.S. senator and Mexican authorities with clandestine activities. The clock is ticking and the action is non stop to the very end.
