Happy Canada Day!

Well, the library is closed today, but you can still check out some items. Want to know how?

You can download them! You can search our catalogue for either "downloadable electronic books" (books you can read on your computer or on a portable device) or "downloadable audiobooks" (books you can listen to through your computer or on you iPod or other MP3 player). It's really easy to do...

Here are a few titles to start you off... by Canadian authors, of course! If these are checked out, there are certainly more to choose from. Enjoy!

AUDIOBOOKS

The Life of PI by Yann Martel

Hey Nostradamus! by Douglas Coupland

EBOOKS

Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood

Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures by Vincent Lam

Thanks so much for pointing these out! Ebooks and e-audio books are so useful if you can't get into the library. They're accessible anytime, from anywhere, with your Burlington Public Library card! Quite a few of our Canadian books are not available in downloadable formats, but when they are, they are very convenient!

Yes, I confess it was a bit hard to find Canadian content to download, but hopefully that will change in the future. We have so many amazing writers!
