What are you reading on this lovely long weekend?

I'm reading Jewel by Bret Lott (1999). It was an Oprah Book Club pick several years ago about a family in Mississippi in the 1940s-1950s and the struggle they have raising a child with special needs. I'm only about halfway through, but it's quite intriguing so far. The film version has apparently been shown several times on television recently with Farrah Fawcett in the starring role.
