The End of Food: How the Food Industry Is Destroying Our Food Supply and What You Can Do about It by Thomas F. Pawlick
“Eat locally.” Google retrieves over 29 million hits for this phrase. A front page article in the Burlington Post for Sunday, April 26th identifies Halton region’s fresh food shortage and promotes healthy food choices. Today, people want to know more about what they consume; country of origin, nutrient composition and processing.
In his book, The End of Food, Canadian author Thomas Pawlick dispels widely held assumptions about agricultural efficiencies with just enough scientific research citation to remain authentic without becoming overwhelming or worse, boring. His breezy writing style engages and educates the reader, but he also compels us to consider anew the food choices we make. The End of Food is one of many books critiquing the food industry.
