Tuesday's Pick!
After coming to terms with her father's death and saving the family winery in The Merlot Murders, northern Virginia winery owner Lucie Montgomery now has another serious problem on her hands in Chardonnay Charade. A freak late spring frost threatens to kill the young grapes and ruin her vineyard's new success. Lucie and her head winemaker work all night to save the grapes. Lucie thinks she's won the battle, but her hopes are dashed in the early morning hours when she discovers the disfigured body of a controversial local political candidate in the vineyard.
Interweaving Virginia’s Civil War history with its long winemaking traditions, Ellen Crosby spins a fine tale of intrigue and mystery. This one’s a sure winner.
Chardonnay Charade is the latest installment in a series; the 3rd, titled Bordeaux Betrayal, will be out later this year.
