My Pick of the Week!
Dana Stabenow breaks away from her two popular Alaska-based mystery series to deliver Blindfold Game, her excellent stand-alone thriller.
Married heroes Hugh Rincon and Sara Lange are Alaska natives who have careers that keep them apart: Sara is an executive officer on a Coast Guard cutter patrolling the Maritime Boundary Line in the Bering Sea, and Hugh is a Washington DC based CIA agent. When Hugh discovers that terrorists are plotting a sea-based attack on a city in Alaska (and his own agency doesn't take the threat seriously), he realizes it's up to him to save his wife and the thousands of people at risk, culminating in a naval showdown off the Alaskan coast.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I will definitely try one of her Kate Shugak mysteries. Her descriptions make you feel the rock of the boat, the deep freeze in the air, and the nail-biting terror of what may happen next.
Have you read this book? Did you like it? Have you read any other good books lately, if so let me know!
