One Book One Burlington 2012

On Wednesday, June 20th, the 2012 One Book One Burlington selection was announced at a special Destination Celebration launch at the library. Our selection this year is The Beauty of Humanity Movement by Camilla Gibb. Set in Vietnam, BPL launched the book with delicious appetizers from Pomelo Restaurant in Burlington and entertainment from the Vietnamese Cultural Group in Mississauga.

To celebrate this book and its themes, the library will be offering a number of programs this fall: an author visit, a night of Vietnamese cuisine at a local restautrant, a speaking event featuring Kim Phuc, the iconic "girl in the picture" in the Pulitzer-prize- winning photograph of children fleeing a napalm attack-- and much more!
