Going on a road trip? The library can help!

Well, school is out and families everywhere are hopping in the car and heading out to visit family, friends, and attractions.  As you are planning your vacation, why not visit your local branch to help you survive the hours on the road?

1. DVDs

Many vans and SUVs are equipped with DVD players these days, and if they are not, lots of families have their own portable DVD players.  How about checking out a few DVDs to keep everyone happy in the back seat?

2. Books on CD

The library has books for adults and children on CD and MP3.  Click on the above link and then limit your search to Adult or Children's material.  You might check out some classics that can be enjoyed with all members of the family!

3. Playaways

Can't agree on the same thing to listen to?  A Playaway might be the solution!  A Playaway is an audio device that has an entire book on it. All you have to do is put in a AAA battery and your headphones and you're set.  The whole family could be listening to their books of choice!

4. Downloadable Audiobooks

For those who would like to listen to your iPod or MP3 devices, visit our Download Centre to download audiobooks that can be transferred to your portable device.  There is a selection of both children's and adult titles.

As for me, I've just stocked up on some Children's books on CD for our car trip.  Hopefully they will keep everyone happy!
