Non-Fiction Pick of the Week: You Say Tomato, I say Shut Up

You Say Tomato, I Say Shut Up: A Love Story by Annabelle Gurwitch and Jeff Kahn 2010

Married for 13 years, Hollywood writers Annabelle Gurwitch and Jeff Kahn put every aspect of their relationship out there in a he said/she said chronicle of their relationship. They’ll make you laugh out loud with their no-holds barred approach in telling their tale and often warn that married life is no picnic – it’s work. Hard work. It’s all about being able to laugh at yourself and all the craziness life will throw at you. With the birth of their son who has a myriad of birth defects, it’s also a survivor’s tale. Topics include dating, marriage, intimacy, codependence, parenting, in-laws, and couples therapy.

Anyone who has ever been in a relationship will enjoy this book. It reads like an entertaining HBO series. Even those who are single might just appreciate that fact after reading it! A fun read that is adult in most of the content.
