My Pick of the Week!

Would you like to travel back in time to Tudor life in the sumptuous Hampton Court Palace? Then you might enjoy Philippa Gregory's The Boleyn Inheritance, a follow-up to her earlier novel The Other Boleyn Girl. Life at the court of the increasingly tyrannical Henry VIII is one of politicking, scheming, romance and treachery. Convincingly told in the first person by Anne of Cleves, the doomed Catherine Howard and Anne Boleyn's sister-in-law, we know the tale ultimately ends at the scaffold. But in that telling, the voice of powerless women victimized by the callousness of those in power heart-breakingly unfolds.

Check out other authors of Historical Fiction on our Library's Web site!

Comment of note:
I noticed your posting of Philippa's newest title as the book of the week and wanted to send you a quick message. I am Philippa's US publicist and we are hosting a live global web event on Sept. 16th at 2:00pm ET. Philippa will be speaking to a live audience in London and that will be broadcast across to the US to her fans nationwide.
If you are interested in signing up to watch, you can go to Philippa Gregory Live. She will be discussing The Other Boleyn Girl movie, The Boleyn Inheritance, her upcoming books, and much more. We are really excited to FINALLY be catching up with You Tube and hope you can join us for this unique event.
